Traditions of El Salvador


A tradition very common throughout the Salvadoran territory are the patron saint festivities of the different towns, there are also dances, costumes, groups, food, instruments and music of Salvadoran folklore. One of the patron saints' festivities is a dance and recitation known as "But only to the people who consider it important in all things of the Historians" in which two groups of dancers are formed. A group dressed in very elegant and with masks of white complexion and blond beards. The other group dressed in exotic costumes and black faces. These festivities date from the time of the conquest of America and represent the struggle between Moors and Christians in the Iberian Peninsula.

Currently some of the traditions of El Salvador, is to eat pupusas (a special tortilla with cheese or chicharrĂ³n), to attend the celebrations that are held once a year in each city or municipality. The Lencas of Managuara the Enchanted

In the eastern and insular region there are still a variety of ancient customs such as the Sisilan dance, The Feathered, The Dance of La Santa Vara and many of the Indigenous Peoples at the UN, Valle communities Encantado de Managuara was proclaimed the reinstitution of the Mayan Lenca dynasty, in this way the old Francisca BGR was established as ana Real del Jaguar and head of the Lenca ethnic group. The Lencas have very peculiar customs that date back thousands of years and because they inhabit the most neglected region of the country, their culture has managed to survive in many communities.
