Devadi

In Hindu mythology, Devadi is a son of Pradiba and brother of Sandana, in whose states he lived far from the world and committed to the contemplative life.

Envy Indra of the virtue that had Devadi to give back to the old the youthful force by only touching them, punished the kingdom of Sandana with a drought that lasted twelve years. The Brahmins assumed that this punishment was sent by heaven for not having chosen Devadi, a model of virtue, instead of the brother, who had little respect for religious duties. Knowing Sandana of this displeasure, wanted to leave with Devadi its dominions, to which this one did not agree not believing deserving such distinction.
