Lasionycta taigata


Lasionycta taigata is a species of nocturnal moth of the family Noctuidae.

It inhabits peat bogs and open swamps in the taiga area, from Labrador, Churchill (Manitoba) and central Yukon, to northern Maine, northern Minnesota and southwestern Alberta.

Adults fly from the end of June to July. It is nocturnal, and it attracts light.

This species has anatomical patterns similar to several species in the genus Polia, particularly Polia propodea, but it is much smaller.
