The estuary of Ajo, Castellanos or Venera is an estuary located on the eastern coast of Cantabria (Spain), between the municipalities of Bareyo and Arnuero, being the mouth of the river Campiazo to the Cantabrian Sea. It has an area of ​​101.9 hectares and a perimeter of 13.1 kilometers, with an intertidal surface of 84%.

It is a narrow estuary with a marsh vegetation concentrated in the intertidal moors of the interior, and with a steep and bare border relief in its immediate area to the Cantabrian Sea. The soils are mainly sands in the first zone and muds in the second.
