Shield of Quindío

The Quindío Coat of Arms is the main emblem and one of the official symbols of the Colombian department of Quindío, designed by Solita Lozano de Gómez, who also designed the flag.

The main coat of arms is circular in shape with a thick red border; inside this one is another blazon, of English form, in which is located a trunk of a tree with an ax nailed in the part superior, symbol of the Antiochian colonization that gave origin to these lands. Surrounding the interior blazon are two branches of mature coffee trees intertwined at the bottom and joined at the top by a ribbon bearing the motto of the department: "YOUNG, RICH, POWERFUL". The date 1966 located at the bottom of the trunk refers to the date the department of Quindío was created.
