Quinto Marcio Trémulo

Fifth Marcio Trémulo (in Latin Quintus Marcius Tremulus), a Roman commoner, was twice consul next to the patrician P. Cornelio Arvina, the first time in the year 306 a. C. and the second time in 288 a. C.

In his first consulate, Trembling led the wars against the heroics and Anagnini, whom he easily defeated, and then marched to the aid of his colleague in Samnio. Upon his arrival in the latter country he was unexpectedly attacked by the Samnites, but Cornelius came to his aid, and the two armies obtained a brilliant victory over the enemy. Cornelius remained in Samnius, but Trembling returned to Rome, where he celebrated a triumph over the heroics and Anagnini, and an equestrian statue was built for him in the forum before the temple of Castor.

Consul Quinto Marcio Filipo was probably his son.
