Reinoud I of Brederode (Santpoort, 1336 - 1390) was the sixth lord of Brederode. By marriage he became 'Count of Gennep'. Lifecycle
He was a son of Dirk III of Brederode and Beatrix van Heinsberg of Valkenburg. Reinoud was appointed in 1358 to Kennemerland's jug by Albrecht of Bavaria, in the same year, a murder attack is committed to him in Castricumerzand, which he survives. Shortly thereafter he begins the Siege of Heemskerk, where the suspected assailants hide, for unclear reasons, he is taken from the siege. On November 11, 1377, he follows his father as Lord of Brederode. Reinoud supports Mechteld van Gelre in her struggle for the Duchy Gelre between 1371-1379.
Reinoud married in 1366 with Jolanda van Gennep van der Eem, a daughter of Jan II van Gennep. Together they got at least four sons: Children
