Shield of Christmas Island


The coat of arms of Christmas Island is the symbol of this island that has status of Australian outer territory. It was adopted on April 14, 1986 but has no official character. It consists of a field of azure (blue color) in which they appear five stars of silver (white) that represent the Constellation of the Cross of the South that also compose the flag of Christmas Island and are one of the symbols of the Australian Commonwealth .

The stars of the Constellation of the Southern Cross are located on schematic waves of the same metal (color).

The blue color symbolizes the Indian Ocean that surrounds the island.
