Symphony No. 20 (Haydn)

The 20th Symphony in C major, Hoboken I / 20, is a festive symphony by the Austrian composer Joseph Haydn. Hodgson locates the composition date between 1761 or 1762 while Brown claims that it was probably composed before 1761.

It is orchestrated for two oboes, bassoon, two horns, trumpets, timbales, and continuous strings.

The symphony consists of four movements:

The winds remain silent in the second movement of serenade style, in which the first violins play the melody, the second violins, arpeggios and the bass line, pizzicatos. Bibliography
