The Center d'études Clunisiennes is an association dedicated to the study of cultural heritage in Cluny and in its region. It was founded in the early 1980s, shortly after the publication of Kenneth John Conant's work on the great Cluny III abbey church.

This cultural heritage, of which certain elements, such as the former Cluny abbey, are world famous, also includes less known but no less exceptional ensembles, such as the Cluny Romanesque houses, no less than two hundred .

On the other hand, the immediate surroundings are rich with dozens of Romanesque churches, almost one per village, buildings that have been little studied. Organization and activitiesedit code

The Center is mainly run by Jean-Denis Salvèque, and has more than a hundred members. Every year, a newsletter is published, describing the activities of the Center and featuring in-depth articles that provide a variety of news on the progress of cultural heritage knowledge in Cluny and its region.

The last major operation organized by the Center was the very exact copy of a set of Romanesque skylights, bought in the 19th century, dismantled and reassembled in a villa in the Paris region, a copy that was replaced exact location from which the original items were extracted (fall 2007).
