Pepita Thumbelina

Pepita Pulgarcita (Thelma Thumb in the original version) was a cartoon series (short-lived) appearing in the children's show Sesame Street. Its purpose was to teach basic geometric concepts. It was produced by John Korty using his Lumage (Luminous Image) system that was based on using cutouts.

The main character was Pepa Perez (Marcia Middlewell in the original version), a seemingly normal girl who hid a secret identity. When there was danger of accidents or someone needed help, Pepa entered a phone booth (in the style of Superman) or went somewhere secluded where no one saw and pronounced his magic phrase: "Spit gorgorita what is given is not removed convert me into ... Pepita Pulgarcita ", thus reducing to the size of a salt shaker and leaving flying to the rescue. The size of Pepita Pulgarcita allowed to show children, things and places from unique perspectives. Co-starring the series, was the pet of Pepa, the raven Viriato (Cyrus in the original version), designed by Brian Narelle.

As in other Korty short films, the dialogues were partially improvised by actors.
