Cordillera de Caaguazú

The Caaguazú mountain range is a chain of hills or elevations extending from the Amambay mountain range to the Ybytyruzú mountain range, which belongs to the great massif known as the Brazilian Plateau, which comprises part of the departments of Canindeyú, San Pedro, Caaguazú, and Guairá of the Republic of Paraguay.

To these summits in part it is also known as Sierras de San Joaquín. The Amambay, Caaguazu, Ybytyruzu, and San Rafael mountain ranges act as a dividing line between the basins of the Paraguay and Paraná rivers.
