Trekonderbreker

A tensile breaker or fall wind deflector is a mechanical component located between a combustion appliance and its associated smoke discharge duct.

A tensile breaker or downwind diverter must make the constant thermal draft in the combustion chamber independent of the variable tension in the chimney. Equal combustion is thus ensured. Also, the wind that is blown from the outside will be distracted and will not end up in the device. Flame blowing is prevented.

Interruptors are applied, among other things, to gas heaters, gas boilers and central heating systems using open structures, the so-called classical atmospheric appliances. When closed, all necessary combustion air is sucked from the outside and not from the space itself. This is evident by the presence of a parallel or concentric flue gas tube. These devices do not have a tensile breaker or a windscreen wiper.
