Luis Maria Salazar and Salazar (Vitoria, March 13, 1758 - Madrid, April 29, 1838) was a Spanish military and politician. Biography

He entered the Navy in 1775, after studying in Vergara. It tests its arms for the first time in the campaign of Algiers of 1783. In 1792 collaborates in the elaboration of the new General Ordinances of the Navy. In 1802 it ascends captain of ship and in 1807 was Intendente general of Marina. In 1812 he was appointed Secretary of the Treasury Department and that same year, he was the political chief of Seville. In 1814 he was appointed Secretary of the Navy's Office until 1818. In the Liberal Triennium he was again entrusted with the Ministry of the Navy in 1820 and, again in 1823. The Interim Office occupies the Secretariat of War Dispatch for 14 days in June 1825. Fernando VII granted him the title of Count de Salazar in 1830.
