Ketill Thorisson

Ketill þrymur Þórisson (Ketil thrymur Thorisson, dubbed Recio No. 860), also Ketill of Njarðvík was a Viking chieftain of Verdal, Nord-Trondelag in Norway, participated in Viking expeditions to the British Isles and married in 909 with Arnheiður Ásbjörnsdóttir (n.875), daughter of a jarl named Ásbjörn of the Hebrides.Afterwards they emigrated to Iceland, where they founded a settlement in Valþjotstaður í Fljótsdal, Norður-Múlasýsla and became the first goði of the Þrymlingar family clan . From that relationship was born a son, Þiðrandi Ketilsson. The figure of Ketill is also quoted in the saga of Egil Skallagrímson, Brandkrossa þáttr and Gunnars þáttr Þiðrandabana.
