Maximiliano Kloss


Maximiliano Kloss was a German-Mexican military man who participated in the Mexican Revolution. From a very young age he began his career in arms. He belonged to the forces of General Alvaro Obregon, being deputy chief of his artillery, and his role in the Battle of Celaya was of decisive importance. He then held positions such as chief of the section of Engineers and Surveyors of the Department of General Staff of the then Secretary of War and Navy. Author of The rivers and their improvements (1919). He died in Tacubaya, Distrito Federal, in 1921. He was the son of a Prussian officer, and he met Francisco Villa at the Emporio Hotel in El Paso, Texas. In the biography written by Paco Ignacio Taibo II, he mentions that Francisco Villa, after receiving a proposal to ally himself with the German government, for the installation of underwater bases in Mexico, he threw it down the stairs.
