Silhouette is a semi-professional band from Utrecht. They play progressive rock or, according to some, symphonic rock based on music from Marillion, Genesis, Pink Floyd, IQ and similar bands. Silhouette delivers a music album at the end of 2006: A-maze.

In the period 2007-2009, Silhouette worked on a draft album titled 'Moods'. The release of this album took place at the end of 2009.

In 2012, Silhouette released the third album: Across The Rubicon. This album sells fast and the first press has been sold out in three months.

In November 2014, Silhouette released its fourth CD, entitled Beyond the Seventh Wave. This is another conceptual album with the central theme of freedom and inspired by escape stories such as Papillon. During the writing and recording of this album, the composition of the Silhouette changes as band members of the first hour, Jos Uffing (drummer / singer) and Gerrit-Jan (GJ) Bloemink (bass guitarist) are replaced by Rob van Nieuwenhuizen (also drummer of the progmetal band Incidense) and Jurjen Bergsma. In addition, Daniel van der Weijde (guitarist) has also strengthened the band, with which Brian de Graeve can concentrate more on the lead vocals. Daniel was recruited during the Marillion weekend in Port Zelande in 2012, where he performed guitarist Steve Rothery during a so-called "swap the band".
