In it, a couple formed by Marion (Julie Delpy), a French photographer, and Jack (Adam Goldberg), an American decorator, goes on vacation to Italy. On the way back, they decide to spend a few days in Paris, Marion's hometown, but Marion's heavy parents and their ex-boyfriends, together with Jack's obsession to photograph every moment and his conviction that French condoms will be small, only create between them a growing tension.
