Young Danish String Quartet

The Young Danish String Quartet was founded in 2001. The then members were still studying at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen at Tim Frederiksen. The members were Rune Sørensen (violin), Frederik Øland (violin), Asbjorn Nørgaard (viola) and Carl-Oscar Østerlind (cello) who were not at all 18 years old.

Since the foundation, the string quartet received various prizes, including those of the Charles Hennen Competition in the Netherlands. They were asked by Dacapo to include Carl Nielsen's string quartets, with the reviews being positive.
