Burmaniapark

Burmaniapark is a new development district in Drachten, in the Dutch province of Friesland. The neighborhood is located north of the rest of Drachten.

The neighborhood is named after the old friesian nobility with the surname Burmania.

The neighborhood is close to the N31, the motorway connecting Leeuwarden and Drachten. Between the N31 and Burmani Park are plans for the new Vrijburgh district.

Burmani Park is largely inhabited and there are some companies on the outskirts of the district. There were no stores in the entire district, but in September 2009, an Albert Heijn was opened at the roundabout at the Burmani Park. This has already been demolished.

There is no elementary school in the district. The nearest primary schools are located in the Folgef district.

Streets in the neighborhood are named after gems:

The neighborhood is accessible via two places via the Nijtap street or the Kletserlaan. Both access roads are located on the Jade, making this street also the only access road to the other streets of the district. The Jade also houses most of the business premises. On the Emerald is an artwork. It represents a pink tree of steel pipes. Up in the branches of the tree are clouds that are brought by the wind.
