Horacio Martínez Estrella (1915 - 1992) was a Dominican infielder who played in the Negro League between 1935 and 1947 for New York Cubans. Although his official position was the shortstop, Martinez also performed with relative success on the second and third bases. It was characterized for having a powerful arm and very good defense, earning the nickname "the perfect shortstop". Due to his great ability to field at the shortstop he was nicknamed the "Rabbit". He was also considered the best shortstop in the league. He played in the Cuban League, Puerto Rican League, Mexican League, and was manager in the Venezuelan League. In the Dominican League he played for the Tigres del Licey and the Estrellas Orientales.

Martinez died on April 14, 1992 after several years of suffering from Parkinson's. Trivia
