Lighting design refers to the practice of using natural and artificial light in the building mainly, but also in the lighting of shop windows and commercial spaces and in urban planning. The term is commonly used in the 1930s (find the mention of a "lighting association").
The lighting designer is the person in charge of the lighting in the show and the cinema, but also, by extension, in the fields described above.
