Ajjar or Ayyar (in Bulgarian: Айяр), is the name given in the compilation of the XVII century of the Bulgarians of the Volga, Ja'far Tarikh, a work whose authenticity is disputed, as the successor of Tervel on the throne of Bulgaria.

The name of Ajjar is not fully authenticated in the sources, but the Nominalia of the Bulgarian kanes contains indications of two damaged records between the entries of Tervel and Sevar. The second of these names is the Kormesios of the Byzantine sources, Kormesij. According to the Ja'far Tarikh, Ajjar was the brother and successor of Tarvil (Tervel), and the uncle and predecessor of Kermes (Kormesij). Since this testimony can not be corroborated, it provides a convenient name for one of the lost rulers of the Nominalia. Ajjar could have reigned in 715 according to the chronology developed by Moskov.
