Jo van Gastel


Johannes Jacobus ("Jo") of Gastel (Tilburg, January 5, 1887 - 5 March 1969) was a Dutch handball shooter.

Van Gastel was a son of Johannes van Gastel, who participated in the Olympic Games of Paris in 1900, and Anna Deckers. Van Gastel was a bank worker in Tilburg.

Jo van Gastel shot for the Netherlands at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp. He won the gold medal with the team on the moving bird target section (28 meters). His teammates were Piet de Brouwer, Janus Theeuwes, Driekske van Bussel, Joep Packbiers, Tiest van Gestel, Janus van Merrienboer and Theo Willems.

He was affiliated with Never Done in Tilburg.
