Lies With the Designer

He blamed Baisetsu Anayama Nobukimi (穴 山 信 君, Anayama Nobukimi; 1541 - 1582), also known as Baisetsu Nobukimi, was a samurai from the late Sengoku period. He was a son of Anayama Nobutomo and a nephew of Takeda Shingen. He acquired fame as one of the twenty-four generals of Takeda Shingen.

Anayama fought for his uncle in Battle of Kawanakajima (1561) and the Battle of Mikatagahara (1573). After the death of Takeda Shingen in 1573, he fought under his son, Takeda Katsuyori, in the Battle of Nagashino (1575) before crossing to his enemy, Tokugawa Ieyasu. Tokugawa rewarded Anayama for his services with the rule of Kai Province. However, he was killed shortly by the Takeda sympathizers.

In 1569 Takeda Shingen Anayama gave a castle to Ejiri and a land in the newly conquered province of Suruga. Under Takeda Katsuyori he again held an important place in the Takeda hierarchy, and he performed a major troop in the Battle of Nagashino in 1575. It seemed as though he had a disagreement with Katsuyori, which may be a factor when he decided leaving the Takeda and joining Tokugawa Ieyasu. A few months later, he accompanied Tokugawa to the region of the capital where he was forced to flee after Akechi Mitsuhide rebelled. He took a different route than Ieyasu and the others and was killed. A legend states that revengeful troops had loyally planned to kill Takeda after killing him for weeks.

Anayama had a son, Anayama Nobukimi, who only became fifteen years old, 1572 to 1587.
