Okto


Okto, is a television channel in Singapore, of Mediacorp. Otto is a channel intended for the adolescent public and young adults, similar to Canal U. The channel is located on MediaCorp 1212 Central and on air on the 495.25 MHz frequency.

The word "okto" means "8" in Greek. But it does not have to be confused with Mediacorp Channel 8, Mediacorp main Chinese language channel Standard. Despite the meaning of the name of the channel, the channel is aired above channel 30 for those who receive it by air channel, or channel 25 for those who use StarHub. For StarHub television subscribers, channel is located above channel 108.

Okto has a mascot named Ollie, who was originally named OktoBoy. This was introduced in 2011. History

On September 1, 1995, Channel 8 began a 24-hour broadcast. Premiere 12 was launched to include more children's programs (mainly for Pre-school children) and sports coverage. Premiere 12 later included Tamil programs and was renamed Central, on January 30, 2000.
