Miquel Soldevila


Miquel Soldevila i Valls (San Andres de Palomar, 1886 - Barcelona, ​​1956) was a Catalan painter, sketcher and enamel artist. He studied in the School of the Llotja, where he was disciple of Josep Torrescassana. He cultivated landscape and portraiture, exhibiting at the Sala Parés in Barcelona in 1913. In 1936 he settled in Rome, and Pope Pius XI commissioned several works. On his return to Barcelona, ​​he was director of the Massana School (1940) in 1964 a monographic museum dedicated to its figure was installed. He was the most outstanding enamel of his time, cultivating portraits and religious and mythological subjects, with a rich range of colors and irisations.
