New Lots is a sub-section of the East New York neighborhood in the eastern district of Brooklyn in New York. It was known as Town of New Lots since 1852, when the area separated from Town of Flatbush, until it was annexed in 1886 as the 26th constituency. The population is mostly African-American and Hispanic. The neighborhood is part of the Brooklyn Community Board 5 and features the New Lots subway line. Nearby neighborhoods are Canarsie to the south, and Brownsville to the west.
