Treaty of Agadir


The Arab Mediterranean Free Trade Agreement (FTA), or Agadir Agreement, was launched in May 2001 in Agadir (Morocco) by four Arab Mediterranean countries: Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt.

Through the Agadir declaration, the four countries expressed their intention to establish a free trade zone between them.

The objectives of the Arab Mediterranean Free Trade Agreement (FTA) are:

The Agadir Agreement creates a free trade zone for 120 million consumers.

The Agadir Agreement forms part of the Euro-Mediterranean Association of the EU.
