Heinrich Karl Brugsch.
Heinrich Karl Brugsch (Berlin, 18 February 1827 † Berlin, September 19, 1894) was a German Egyptologist.
In 1863 he became known for founding the Zeitschrift für Äegyptische Sprache und Altertumskunde (Magazine for Egyptian language and archeology).
Very young, he studies the papyrus and inscriptions in Demotic Egyptian on which he publishes his memorial in 1843, titled Scriptura Ægyptiorum Demotica (Demotic writing of the Egyptians).
He was associated with Auguste Mariette in his excavations in Memphis.
