The national symbols of Saint Lucia are the flag, designed by Dunstan St. Omer; the national anthem, composed by the Reverend Charles Jesse and musicalized by Leton Felix Thomas in 1967; the coat of arms, designed by local artist Sydney Bagshaw in 1979; the parrot of Santa Lucia (Amazona versicolor), national bird and the rose and the daisy, national flowers.
Saint Lucia does not have a national motto. The inscription "The Land. The People. The Light" appears only on their national coat of arms.
