The Popgun

The Popgun was a Belgian pop group from 1985 to the early nineties. The band members Frank Ermgodts (singer) and Patrick Nicasy (keys and guitar) were enhanced by varying musicians. They made up-pace pop music that at the same time had a romantic and melancholic lace. They booked success in Belgium with singles like Always alone (1985), Oh, what a day (1986) and Ordinary blue (1990).

The Popgun has never broken internationally. A possible cause was the economic situation and the statute of the Belgian artist. In addition, they are referred to as school examples in this context. The pop group was also not well received by the alternative circuit of the time, which found them "too commercial". Yet their single Dream appeared on the studio album of Studio Brussels next to bands like Pearl Jam and The Scabs.

The Popgun released fourteen singles, and two albums: The Popgun (1989) and Table Swimming (1992).

After a period of two decades, The Popgun reunited in 2011 for a short while with a reunion concert in Meerhout (home of Patrick Nicasy).
