Derbent (carpet)

Derbent is the name for Dagestan carpets (a category of Caucasian carpets) from the town of Derbent. The general features of carpeted carpets are repeated in more detail.

The Derbenten are mainly used as floor carpets and are therefore thicker and larger in shape than the Dagestan carpets. The carpets from the city and surrounding areas also process less, coarser and more varied colors in the carpets. The colors are blue, yellow, red and white, but without the harmonious composition of the Dagestan carpet. The carpets often have a noticeable shine, as is often seen in carpets from the Iraqi city of Mosoel. The Derbent comes in structure and forms part of the Kazakh (Kazakh). The carpets in the carpets are also coarser and often have a large star or other geometric figure as the main motif, repeated in three or four times in red or red on a red or blue plane. The colors of red and saffronange dominate when the background is blue and blue and yellow are used when the background is red. Each figure is subdivided into other geometric figures, with the hook needle often used. Sometimes individual Kazakh characters can be distinguished. The boundaries, like all Caucasian carpets, are marked with clear patterns.
