Full motion video

Full motion video, or simply FMV, are computer-generated motion graphics, commonly used in video games. These are videos that are recorded in high resolution from very powerful computers; so the only thing that has to do the console is to play them as if they were a movie, and not to create them with their hardware and software as it does with the graphics of the game, a process that requires a lot of processing capacity (which was then too little) . The first appearances were given in the videogames of the game console Sega Mega CD. This system gives a greater interaction and introduction of the player with the game, in addition to making the progress of the game much more striking compared to the sprites used for the playable part. In its beginnings it was an effective but expensive way to make videogames more attractive.
