orator

A rhetoric or rhetoric (of the Greek word ῥήτωρ, rhêtôr, speaker, teacher) is a practitioner of the art of eloquence, or rhetoric. Well-known judges were Socrates, Isocrates, Demosthenes and Cicero, although the former regarded himself as a philosopher, because the then reasoning, the Sofists, had a bad reputation (they sold their services for money and defended the position for which they were paid, instead of to search for truth). This reputation has retained and ensured some at various times.
