Ko-no-Hana

Ko-no-Hana, or more precisely Ko-no-hana-no-sakuya (木花 咲 耶 / 木花 之 佐 久 夜 / 木 花開 耶), is, in Japanese mythology, the princess-flower and the symbol of delicate earthly life. She is the daughter of the god Oho-Yama. She is often considered an avatar of Japanese life, especially because of her symbol, the cherry blossom or sakura.

She is Ninigi's wife. She met the god at the seaside and they fell in love. Ninigi asked his hand to Oho-Yama who offered him his eldest daughter, Iwanaga (ja) instead. But Ninigi swore by Ko-no-Hana. Comprehensive, Oho-Yama agreed and the wedding could take place. They had three sons, including Hoderi and Hoori. Notes and edit the code
