Tolkien Reading Day is an annual event promoted by The Tolkien Society in 2003, which takes place every March 25, when, according to the calendar of the County, it is destroyed the Unique Ring and the armies commanded by the Captains of the West defeat in the Battle of Morannon, causing the definitive defeat of Sauron.

The aim of this day is to promote the reading of the different works of J. R. R. Tolkien, both those that are part of his Legendarium and those that do not. The Tolkien Society also seeks Tolkien's work to be used for educational purposes and reading groups.
