Before taking the helm of the Spanish press agency in 1969, Alejandro Armesto was the fifteenth and last director of the Francoist newspaper Madrid Arriba, created in March 1935 by José Antonio Primo de Rivera (1903-1936), founder of the Spanish Falange, banned in March 1936 and reappeared from March 1939.
