Georg Rimski-Korsakov


Georg Michalovich Rimski-Korsakov (Russian: Георг Михайлович Римского-Корсаков) (St. Petersburg, December 26, 1901 - October 10, 1965) was a Russian musicologist and composer. He was the grandson of the famous Russian composer Nikolaj Rimski-Korsakov.

In 1923, Georg Michalovich founded a quartet music association in St. Petersburg and also wrote a number of dissertations on experimental music. Later he also studied the study of electro-acoustic musical instruments.

In 1930, he constructed an 'emeriton'. For this instrument he composed Octet for 2 emeritons, 3 blazers and 3 strings, (1932).
