The BC Zenit St. Petersburg (in Russian, БК «Зенит» Санкт-Петербург) is a Russian basketball team based in St. Petersburg, Russia. Play in the VTB United League and in the second European competition, the Eurocup. He disputes his home games at the Sibur Arena, with a capacity of 7,044 spectators. Sponsored by Gazprom, the franchise was previously known as Dynamo Moscow Region BC and Triumph Lyubertsy Moscow Region BC, based in the Moscow region.

History

The club was originally founded in 2003, under the name of BC Dynamo Moscow Region, and registered in the Russian Super League A. The original club was based in Lyubertsy, in the Moscow Oblast. In June 2007, the Dynamo disbanded and became the Triumph Lyubertsy, which retained the history and records of the Dynamo, through the acquisition of the club's history and rights. In the 2013-14 season, the Triumph reached the final of the EuroChallenge, in which they lost to Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia.

In July 2014, the club announced the transfer of the Lyubertsy franchise to St. Petersburg, and changed its name to BC Zenit St. Petersburg. The club retains the history and rights of Triumph Lyubertsy, and also its place in both the VTB United League and the Eurocup, while the club was still trying to maintain a second club in Lyubertsy, which would compete in the Russian Super League.
