Roasted chestnuts are a simple preparation of the autumn months consisting of chestnuts (Castanea) exposed to a heat source with the intention of being prepared by roasting. In some cities, during the winter period, portable grills are prepared with the intention of selling roasted chestnuts in street stalls. In this case the chestnuts are sold in paper cones (usually from newspaper sheets). The tradition of the Magosto (roasted chestnuts) is tradition in the Iberian Peninsula.
