Tommy Thayer

Tommy Thayer (Portland, Oregon, November 7, 1960) is the guitarist of the popular KISS rock band. He took over the mask of Ace Frehley, which led to a lot of anger with the Ace fans. He is a member of the band since 2002. For this he worked behind the scenes at KISS as assistant and tour manager. Other lead guitarists were Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John and Bruce Kulick.

Tommy was also a member of America's popular band Black 'N Blue, which is less known in Europe. He is also responsible for several KISS DVDs (including Rock The Nation) and wrote along with Gene Simmons the Betrayed song for the 1989 Hot In The Shade album. When Black 'n Blue broke down in 1989, he continued with a KISS tribute band called Cold Gin with one of the members of Black' N Blue, Jaime St. James. Thayer played in the band as Ace Frehley. The band fell well in the Kiss tribute scene and was even noticed by the KISS members themselves. Cold Gin could then play on KISS's rhythm guitarist and singer Paul Stanley's birthday party. Gene Simmons, bassist and co-founder of KISS, offered him a job as his assistant who immediately approached Tommy. He did various tasks, from Gene's coffee to booking hotels. Make-up
