Doutor Maurício Cardoso is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
It is located at a latitude of 27º30'21 "South and a longitude of 54º21'39" West, being at a height of 282 meters above sea level. Its estimated population for the year 2004 was 5,878 inhabitants.
It occupies an area of 253.38 km². The municipality is on the banks of the Uruguay River, which acts as a border with Argentina.
