Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix's (1990-1999) Helenaveen and was a son of the peat workers Franciscus Peter (French) Kivits and Francisca (Sientje) van Dongen. His nickname Grard Sientje was due to his mother's first name, with whom he lived until 1951. At the end of Grard's life, he lived next to the place where the family lived in shelters, not far from the village of Zeilberg in the town of Deurne. Kivits received national fame as a "hermit" after a television broadcast in 1976 in the region from region to region. He was especially famous for his quite rough way of life, the large number of dogs he held (35 at his death) and his appearance on motorcycles, of whom he had 12 at his death in 1978. He refused to ride it , categorically wearing a helmet.

Kivits died at the age of 85 in Deurne. Soon after, his house was demolished by the municipality. Grard Sientje was sung by the folk music group Moek in the song Sientje. Bibliography Externe link
