Photograph is a ballad of the British heavy metal band Def Leppard. It is the main simple of its album of 1983 Pyromania. It's a tribute to actress Marilyn Monroe, but singer Joe Elliot contradicted himself in an interview and explained that the song is about "Something you can never put your hands on". When it was released as a single it reached number 1 on the Hot Mainstream list of Billboard Rock Tracks and number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. In 2006 the song was used for a promotional advertisement for the film Blades of Glory. In 2009 it was placed in the 13th position of The 100 Greatest Songs of Hard Rock by VH1. It was named as the 17th song of the best songs of the past 27 years by VH1
