He completed his Baccalaureate studies at the National Institute "Rosendo López" in his hometown. He studied Humanities at the Central American University and Philosophy and Letters in Madrid and Barcelona. In Costa Rica he wrote his extensive poem Cantata estupefacta Between 1979 and 1983 he worked at the UNAN (Managua) as a professor of Philosophy and Literature.
