Ar-Namys

Ar-Namys (in Kyrgyz, Ар-Намыс, meaning Dignity) is a political party in Kyrgyzstan. It was founded on 9 July 1999 by former Prime Minister Felix Kulov. The party quickly joined the opposition, but was excluded from the 2000 parliamentary elections. Following the ban on participating in the elections, it formed a bloc with the Democratic Movement of Kyrgyzstan (MDK). While Kulov was in jail on criminal charges, members of his party worked with the MDK to clear the name of their leader and establish an opposition coalition.

Ar-Namys is considered a conservative and pro-Russian party.

In 2001 it formed the Kyrgyz People's Congress People's Alliance with three other opposition parties. Kulov was elected its president. However, in 2004 the party joined the All For Just Elections alliance, preparing for the parliamentary elections in February 2005.

Ar-Namys obtained 7.74% of the votes in the 2010 parliamentary elections, obtaining 25 of the 120 seats that form the Parliament. This result placed the party as the third force of the five that exceeded the threshold of 5% of voters needed to enter Parliament.
