Atomizer

Principle of operation of a sprayer.

A sprayer or atomizer is a tool that is used to produce a fine spray of a liquid, by means of a manual pump (rubber or plunger), based on the aspiration due to the Venturi effect.

Operating principle

When pressurized air is injected through a tube that decreases in section, it undergoes acceleration, which reduces the pressure at the narrowest point (due to the Bernoulli principle).

The reduced pressure absorbs, through a narrow tube, the liquid from the lower container (in fact it can be in any position while the liquid reaches the orifice), due to the difference in pressure between the two points, and It projects forward in the form of a thin shower of small drops (not of atoms in spite of the name). Use

Sprayers are used to spray perfumes, for paint application, in carburetors and fuel injection systems, and in spray drying installations. Note
