Manuel González Alba


Manuel González Alba (Valls, 1896 - Barcelona, ​​1934) was a Spanish politician. He went to study in Marseilles, but when World War I was declared in 1914 he returned to Barcelona. He was a professor of Catalan and collaborator of Pompeu Fabra, was also imprisoned in 1927 for his participation in the plot of Prats de Molló. He also collaborated with Jordi Arquer in various publications of the Ateneo de Gràcia, which proposed the formation of culture of the working classes.

Since 1931 he played in the Bloque Obrero y Campesino and later in the political party Estat Catalá. Together with Jaume Compte and Amadeu Bardina he died in the premises of the Autonomist Center of Dependents of Comerç i de la Indústria (CADCI) in Rambla Santa Mónica, during the proclamation of the Catalan State in October 1934.
