Sip Bloemberg


Sip Bloemberg (Klazienaveen, June 9, 1952) is a former Dutch footballer.

Bloemberg was picked out by FC Groningen in 1971 at amateur club Vv Klazienaveen. He made his debut in the Eredivisie on April 30, 1972, in an outbreak against DWS. In four seasons at Groningen, Bloemberg came to 67 championships, scoring five times. After a degradation in 1974, he played in his 1974/75 season with Groningen in the First Division.

The defending midfielder was transferred to Belgian national champion RWDM in 1975 for 350,000 guilders. Bloemberg played here for a year. RWDM appeared in Europacup 1, but in the four duels against Viking Stavanger and Hajduk Split, Bloemberg had passed. Also in the league he was not a regular bassist and he came to fourteen performances. In 1976 he returned to the Netherlands and signed a three-year contract at FC Twente. However, at Twente, he did not know to enforce a fixed base. He played eighteen competitions and two cups. In February 1978 he left for his old club FC Groningen.

Bloemberg played four and a half season for Groningen. In 1979, he threatened to be rejected after both knees were torn, but in 1980 he returned to the field. On December 6, 1981 he played his last match in paid football. In 1983 he was disapproved of bad ankles. Later he made a comeback in the amateur football and he continued for EHS '85 from Emmerschans and CVV Germanicus from Coevorden. As a coach he was employed by CSVC, VV Valthermond and SV Dedemsvaart. From the 2010/11 season he trains VV Schoonebeek from Nieuw Schoonebeek.
